Immigration has announced modifications that will take place. These modifications, which will encourage more foreign students to study in Australia, are unquestionably for the better.
These modifications include:
- For graduates of Masters by Coursework programmes, the duration of stay on the Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa will permanently extend from two to three years. This will take effect on December 1, 2021.
- The stay length on the Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa Graduate Work stream will be extended from 18 to 24 months as a concession during the COVID-19 epidemic. This will take effect on December 1, 2021.
This is already in force, which is fantastic because many students have been given extended visas. Having PR is also highly beneficial for students because it gives them more time to complete the requirements. Particularly for trade school students who require additional time to work in their sector.
As a courtesy during the COVID-19 epidemic, the need that graduates nominate an occupation from the skills occupation list will be removed from the application requirements. On July 1st, 2022, this will go into effect.
We require more details about this. Students that fulfill the Australian Study Requirement appear to be qualified for a graduate visa. I do have a few of questions, though.
- When will this concession end and why not bring it in right away?
- Should your studies be relevant to your profession?
- Can you obtain the Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) by completing any 2-year diploma courses or a package of courses?
Since there isn't any official legislation on the subject, it will be difficult to offer advice until we can evaluate it. But there are unquestionably some huge winners here. The following programmes spring to mind as having even better PR potential:
- Community Service Students
- Nursing Students with a Diploma
- Agriculture/Horticulture Stude
We chose these occupations because it is generally simple to pass a competence assessment in them, which is why we highlighted them. They also have excellent migration chances because they are in high demand in practically every Australian state. To fulfill the criteria, however, students must still combine these courses into a 2-year course package.
