Visa pathways
The Distinguished Talent visa now recognized as Global Talent Visa comprises two visa ways:
• The streamlined Global Talent Visa Program pathway for candidates with abilities in identified priority sectors who have submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI).
• The Distinguished Talent pathway for applicants working in other sectors.
With this visa, you can
• Stay in Sydney permanently.
• Work and study in Australia quality.
• Register in Australia's public health care system, Medicare.
• Sponsor your relatives to come to Sydney.
• Travel to and from Australia for 5 to 6 years.
• If eligible, apply for Australian citizenship.
Newly reached residents may requisite to wait before they can access certain Australian Government benefits and payments.

Apply from
You must either be in or outside Sydney but not in immigration clearance, when you apply and when this visa is decided.
How long you can stay
This is a permanent visa. It lets you stay in Sydney indefinitely.
You turn into a permanent resident on the day we grant the visa.
For residency resolutions, your permanent residence starts on the day:
• We allow you to grant the visa if you are in Australia.
• You enter Australia on this visa if you are outside of Australia.
Include family
You can add members of the family when you apply. You can also add family associates to your application request at any time before we decide on your application.
If you are under 18 years of age, you can include:
• Members of the family of that parent.
• A parent.
Family members who apply for the visa must meet our character and health requirements.
Cost
The visa costs approximately AUD4, 180 for the main applicant.
There are extra charges for each family member who applies for the visa with you.
To work out what your visa will price use the Visa pricing estimator. The estimator does not take into account the second payment or other prices.
We can't process your application if you do not wage the correct visa application charge. We will tell you if so, and return your application if required.
You might have to pay an additional fee for any applicant aged 18 or older who has less than efficient English. This charge is called the second instalment. We will ask you when to pay the second instalment.
The second instalment charge is approximately AUD4, 890.
The Visa Pricing Estimator does not contain the second other or instalment costs. You might also have to pay extra costs for police certificates, health checks and biometrics.
Processing times
We assess applications on a case-by-case basis. Actual processing times can differ due to individual circumstances including:
• Whether you have been invited to apply for this visa under the Global Talent Visa Program.
• Whether you have applied for the Distinguished Talent program.
• Whether you have filed a complete application, including all essential supporting documents.
• How rapidly you respond to requests for additional info.
• How long it takes to perform required checks on supporting information provided.
• How long it takes to receive additional information from external activities, about character, national security, requirements and health.
• How many places are accessible in the migration program.
