The temporary graduate visa, usually known as TR. Introduced in 2008,is a work visa which allows foreign students to remain in Australia to work, stay, study & travel after successfully completing 2 years of study at least.
Students are generally given an 18 months to 4 years period of time to stay in Australia. This visa is not permanent. The length of stay depends on the course of study you choose. You can contact IME Advisors in Sydney for better assistance.
This visa has two streams:
Graduate Work stream:
- Applicable for international students whose study undertaken must nominate an occupation on the Australian Skilled Occupation List (SOL) and for students who have completed at least 2 years of study in Australia. 18 months validity of subclass 485 visas granted under the graduate work stream.
Eligibility:
- Your course should be a CRICOS-registered course
- Your age must be under 50 years
- Your study was in English.
- All course requirements successfully completed
- You complete study over at least two academic years (92 weeks)
- You were physically present for at least 16 calendar months to complete the study in Australia
- Occupation that is on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List the qualification must be related to this
Post-Study Work stream:
- This stream allows international students to remain in Australia for up to 4 years. Who have at an Australian higher education institution completed a bachelor's degree or higher. Nominate an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) is not required for applicant for this stream. Visas granted are valid for between 18 months and 4 years, under the Post-study work stream:
Eligibility:
- Your course should be a CRICOS-registered course
- 50 years below age is must
- Your study was in English.
- All course requirements successfully completed
- You should be present in Australia for alteast 16 months in past 2 years.
