Also students in aged care and who are employed in major supermarkets will be able to extend their working hours, which means they are able to extend their working hours more than 40 hours a fortnight specified in their visa conditions to meet the demand for essential products.
Partner Visa Holder:
Holders for subclass 820 (not pending applicants and on bridging visa) or subclass 309 Partner-provisional may be eligible to apply for Centre link for a limited range of benefits. generally in which you have to wait up to 2 to 4 years.(Department of Human Services master program) However, due to COVID-19,the waiting period for Jobseeker Compensation, Youth Allowance, Farm Household Allowance and Special benefits has been instantly removed by the government.
Skilled and Business visa holders:
If you currently hold a Subclass 494 – Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional Visa, or Subclass 491 – Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) you may meet the definition of Australian resident for social security purposes. For Temporary Skills Shortage Visa (Subclass 482 Visa), a Temporary Work Visa (Subclass 457) holder Australian Government does not currently have in place. The government's coronavirus payments support is not for most of the temporary visa holders.
Investment 188 visa holders or Business Visa due to COVID-19 outbreak are also not eligible for the government financial support introduced.
Visitor Visa/Tourist Visa:
No financial support plans by the Australian Government for visitor visa holders.Visitors include:
- Electronic Travel Authority subclass 601
- eVisitor Visa subclass 651
- Visitors- subclass 600
Visitor visa holders can not work in Australia, it’s recommended that you should contact your embassy or nearest consulate if you are facing financial hardship.
Working Holiday Visa:
Working Holiday visas holders are currently not eligible for financial support being offered by the government of Australia. In Australia there are about more than 100,000 people who has conditional work rights on a working holiday visa. However, those who are working to support the essential sectors of health, farming and food processing, disability and aged care working travelers will be exempted from the six-month work limitation with the one employer. Currently No financial support system for Temporary Work (SC457) or holders and Temporary Skills Shortage (SC482) by Australian Government.
