Basic Qualifications

You must fulfill the requirements listed below in order to qualify for NSW nomination.

Visa

For this visa subclass, you must fulfill all conditions established by Home Affairs..

Skills

• possess expertise in the following fields:
• in a unit group of an ANZSCO listed on the NSW Qualified Work Region Skills List
• is qualified for the Skilled Worker visa for Canberra and Sydney

Residency

You must have lived continuously for at least three months in NSW or overseas, depending on where you are now.

Work history and point total

For your unit group, you must have the required amount of professional job experience and point total. On the NSW Qualified Nominated Skills List, these are listed next to the name of the unit group. 

Nomination Routes

There are two routes to obtain a NSW candidacy for the Sydney and Canberra skilled worker regional visas:

 

Pathway 1: Contact an RDA office directly.

In order to apply using this route, you must:

1. Check to see if you qualify for this visas subclass just on Home Affairs website.

2. Verify that you meet the above-mentioned NSW minimum eligibility requirements.

3. Fill out an EOI in Skillselect Launch and make sure that all of the information is valid and that your EOI exclusively requests nomination for the Highly Nominated visa for Sydney, Canberra, and NSW.

4. After receiving your visa from Home Affairs, submit an application immediately to the RDA department in the area where you want to work and live for the initial three years.

5. Include proof of your current address and all point claims in your Captures EOI along with your application. Additionally, a duplicate of you SkillSelect EOI is required.Regional NSW study exemption

If you have finished study in regional Areas in the most latest 24 months before trying to apply to an RDA office, AND your research is linked to your shortlisted (or closely related) occupation, AND YOUR STUDY MAKES YOU Valid TO CLAIM POINTS FOR STUDY IN Geographic NEW ZEALAND, THEN YOU ARE Excluded FROM THE MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE Necessity UNDER PATHWAY 1

Pathway 2 Obtain a request from Investment NSW

For this pathway to be considered, you must:

1. Check to see if you qualify for this visa subclass also on the Home Affairs website.
2.  Verify that you meet the above-mentioned NSW minimum eligibility requirements.
3. Submit an EOI in Skillselect Launch and make sure that all information is valid and that your EOI exclusively requests nomination for Sydney, Canberra, and NSW Skilled Nominated visa.
4. Be selected to apply in a round of invitations. For any reason other than those inherent in an invitation round, NSW will not send out an invitation to apply. Do not ask to be invited by contacting our office.
5.  Inquire with Investments NSW with 14 days of receiving an invitation.
6.  Describe your current address and back up all of the things you mention in your Captures EOI with evidence.

Important details regarding invitation rounds

Invitation rounds continue to take place all year long. There are no predetermined dates, and rounds really aren't disclosed in advance.

By contacting our office, you will not receive information about the dates of upcoming NSW invite round or the possibility that your Captures EOI will be invited.

No invitation to file for NSW candidacy is a given even if you meet the minimal criteria for nomination listed above.

We firmly advise anyone wanting NSW nomination to investigate all other migration options and not wait to be asked by NSW but being asked to apply is extremely competitive.

 common grounds for rejection of applications

Applications are frequently rejected for the following reasons:

wasn't qualified to use their EOI's full number of points.

The EOI owner is in charge of making sure they can back up every assertion they make in their Captures EOI. Frequently cited reasons for rejection for this include:

• claiming points for community language proficiency after your qualification has lapsed. When NSW invites you to apply for these points, your CCL certification must still be in effect.
• Trying to get points for your professional year when you are not entitled. To claim these points, your official year must have been spent in your chosen (or a closely related) profession.
• Earning points for competent work done before being deemed proficient in your field 

fails to satisfy the residence requirement

You must currently reside in NSW or offshore and have lived there for at at least three months.

excessive employment points claimed

You are not eligible to receive points for employment that was considered skilled prior to the date that appears on your skills evaluation if it does. This specifically pertains to the majority of ACS and VETASSESS tests.

You cannot collect points for skilled trades prior to completing your qualification if your evaluation does not show this date.

We strongly advise you to check your eligibility to collect all the marks in your Captures EOI and that you've only included acceptable skilled employment in order to make sure you are qualified to receive your NSW invitation.

If you accidentally claimed points, you are not qualified to accept a NSW invitation. No exceptions are allowed for any cause.
