This programme is open to accomplished graduate students with a Ph .d, Master's, or Bachelor's from universities in Sydney and Canberra who really are currently residing in Sydney or Canberra.

  • You must first complete an Express of Interest  on Skills Select before submitting a Graduated Paths Assessment Form in order to qualify for this visa. Qualities and characteristics
  • Graduate applicants who meet the migration requirements for Sydney and Canberra must:
  • possess, including state nomination, a point test score of 80 or above (again for 190 visa) and 65 point or more (for the 491 visa).
  • present proof of employment in their chosen profession (or a profession substantially linked to it) with a Sydney and Canberra employer who is a registered Australian business.;
  • meet the PROFICIENT level of proficiency in English
  • satisfy the extra qualifications level requirements listed below.

Invitations will be extended to those with the highest scores for each occupation (additional criteria, such as geography or years of experience, may be taken into account where there are many EOIs for a particular point). EOIs will continue to be processed depending on the points they had when they were first submitted.   

PhD and doctoral degree holders for universities (190 and 491)

Candidates must:

  • reside both Sydney and Canberra onshore
  • have successfully finished their PhD and Doctorate at a university with locations in Sydney and Canberra.
  • have recently graduated and made a decision regarding their thesis.
  • be listed as having a job on LIN 19/051
  •  No employment needed

Masters Degree Holders (190 and 491)

Masters 190 eligibility requirements

Candidates must:

  • reside to Sydney and Canberra onshore
  • received a degree in the past two years for admission in universities
  • have achieved 100% of a Postgraduate program (by thesis or coursework) at the a Sydney and Canberra-based institution
  • have a Master's Degree and skills evaluation in a STEM discipline

Master's 491 immigration rules:

Candidates must:

  • reside in rural areas of Sydney and Canberra
  • Has fulfilled all requirements for a Master's degree at a university with campuses in Sydney and Canberra (either through coursework or research).
  • You having recently earned a degree
  • be listed as having a job on LIN 19/051
  • be working both Sydney and Canberra full-time (35 hours minimum per week) in the nominated or a closely related profession in a regional location.

Bachelor degree holders (491 only)

Candidates must:

  • reside in rural areas of Sydney and Canberra
  • having earned a Bachelor's degree in full from a Sydney- or Canberra-based university.
  • You having recently earned a degree
  • have one grade point average that is at least 5.5 (or its equivalent)
  • be listed as having a job on LIN 19/051
  •  being systems and equipment (35 hours minimum each week) in the chosen or a closely comparable occupation in region Sydney and Canberra.
