Sydney Skilled Migration Program- 2022-23
Two visa pathways are offered under the Sydney Skilled Migration Program is open.
Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) – For skilled migrants, it is a lifetime visa that allows them to live and operate anywhere in Sydney.
Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) – The Long Resident (Skilled Regional) visa provides a route to PR for skilled migrants who wish to live and work in geographic Sydney (subclass 191).
The programme will choose the qualified candidates to apply for visas nominations after they have first submitted a Register of Interest (ROI). Make sure you meet all eligibility conditions for the applicable visa, such as the Skilled Nomination visas (subclass 190) or the Skilled Work Area (Provisional) visa, before submitting a ROI (subclass 491). By May 2023, the ROIs will have been evaluated.

You may now submit a fresh Register of Interests for the programme year 2022–2023 if you were not chosen to enroll in the programme year 2021–2022.

In addition to choosing candidates from Sydney, the government will also choose candidates outside from Australia for the category 190 visa in all relevant occupations.
· Applicants living overseas may also apply for the category 491 visa, in addition to those residing in Sydney. However, for nominations for subclass 491 visas as of right now, Sydney is favoring health occupations.
· More eligible occupations
Applicants are no longer required to possess STEMM skills or work in a specific industry to apply, and all professions on the applicable DHA occupational list are now eligible.
