4 steps of a TRA job ready program in Sydney, Australia
STEP 1: Provisional skills assessment
This step is to check whether you are suitable as per your qualification and employment in Australian institutions for the program. The skill assessment visa (for subclass 485) is used only for subclass 485 and not for permanent resident visa. Eligibility for this step:
- You should have held a student visa of Australia.
- You should be qualified in a relevant occupation.
- You also must have completed minimum 360 hours of employment in Australia in the relevant field.
Process: Create an account on Job-ready program website and get registered then pay provisional assessment fee, submit the application and print the summary, finally email your assessment with summary.
STEP 2: Job ready employment (JRE)
The objective of this step is to check whether you are ready to improve your skills in a related field of the nominated one.
You should have completed 1725 hours of minimum paid employment in the relevant field during the first 12 months after your JRE starts, to be eligible for the last step of the program. Eligibility for this step:
- PSA should have been granted
- Eligible employment in relevant occupation of TRA
- A visa with full work rights or should have applied for temporary graduate visa of at least 12 months.
Process: First get registered on the website and submit details of your employer, finally print the JRE summary and email with all documents.
STEP 3: Job ready workplace assessment
This step is to test whether you are fulfilling your duties, and are completing all your work according to the ones mentioned in your job description. This assessment is done at your workplace by the assessor authorised by TRA. Eligibility for this step:
TRA should have approved your work arrangements.
- You should have completed 863+ hours of employment in the first 6 months of the start date of JRE.
- Documents showing the proof that all your work is completed according to the requirements.
Process: receive conformation of JRWA eligibility, fill the information after signing in, pay the fees, print the form with summary and email it finally with the summary.
STEP 4: Job ready final Assessment
When you have completed the steps 1, 2 and 3 successfully, and fulfilled all the eligibility criteria. Then you eligible to apply for JRFA job-ready final assessment, if you pass all the last 3 steps you can also apply for general skilled migration Visa. Eligibility for this step:
- TRA must have approved all your work arrangements.
- Payslip for completion of 1725 hours of minimum paid employment in the relevant field during the first 12 months after your JRE starts.
