This visa has four streams:
1. Significant Investor stream. This is a provisional 4 year visa for those individuals who want to spend $5 million into a complying investment.
2. Business Innovating section: this is a provisional 4 year visa for those who want to spend at least $200,000 to purchase or establish a business in Canberra.
3. Investor stream: the ACT does not engage in this stream.
4. Entrepreneur stream. This is a provisional 4 year visa for those individuals who are proposing to undertake or undertaking, an entrepreneurial investment in Canberra, Australia.

Summary of the proposed ACT business investment
The request is not a guarantee that your application for ACT nomination will be approved. The application will be assessed against the viability and economic benefit of the ACT in the post-pandemic recovery phase.
Recently, the ACT Government declared that they were adding one more stream into their Skilled Migration program, which is the Small Business Owner pathway. Accordingly, as of July 2021, there are states in Australia that have placed a migration section for small business owners those are namely Canberra, Queensland, and many more.
If you meet the requirements of the Small Business Owner stream in ACT, you might be invited to apply for ACT 190 or 491 nominations. The cut-off selection process will depend on demand.
Your business in Canberra
Your business in Canberra must meet the following criteria to apply under the SBO:
Ownership: You must own at least 51% of a registered business located and actively operating in the ACT.
Turnover: your business must have a minimum turnover of pro-rata or AUD $200,000 per annum.
Length of operation: your business must have actively traded in Canberra, Australia for at least 6 months from the date of purchased or established.
Your business must be profitable. The profit can be as small as $1.
Your salary: Your business must be paying you the following salary straight away before the date of matrix submission:
• You should provide a statutory declaration confirming the citizenship and employment details for each employee.
• 190 nomination: at least $26,000 for six months.
• Employment does not have to be consistence. You may employ at least one or more employees.
• Employee: You should employ at least one permanent resident, Australian citizen or New Zealand citizen for at least 13 weeks or minimum 20 hrs. PW.
• The employment should be in accordance with Australian legislation.
• 491 nomination: at least $13,000 for three months.
Once your matrix is submitted, it can’t be withdrawn or updated. If your circumstances change, you will need to submit a new Matrix in Canberra, Australia.
The ACT government only offers one nomination place each person, unless you have a genuine reason for them to do. Therefore, ensure that your nomination and matrix application are correct, and that you don’t miss any deadline for the application.
